The tour begins at “La Cadena,” an access point authorized by the Galápagos National Park.
An 8 km hike follows natural trails leading to the edge of the Sierra Negra crater.
A descent of about 2.5 to 3 km takes you into the interior of the volcano across volcanic terrain.
The sulfur mines are explored, featuring formations created by ancient sulfurous gases.
From this spot, you can clearly view both the Sierra Negra and Sulfur Mines craters.
Along the way, you’ll see guava trees, ferns, lava lizards, and Darwin’s mockingbirds.
The return is along the same trail, completing the circuit through this volcanic landscape.
