Bartolomé is an island located near the coast of Santiago Island and is one of the youngest in the archipelago (hence the volcanic activity is so palpable). Both islands are named after the naturalist and good friend of Charles Darwin, Sir Bartholomew James Sullivan of the British Navy, who was a lieutenant on the HMS Beagle, the ship on which Darwin arrived in the archipelago. Bartolomé Island has an extension of 1.3 square km and a maximum altitude of 115 meters; it offers one of the most beautiful landscapes of the islands.
You want to walk, explore and take amazing pictures of the best landscape in the Galapagos; on our daily trip to Bartolomé Island you can fulfill your wishes.

Itinerary
Bartholome
Activities: Your trip starts from your hotel the tour begins with a breakfast on the boat (not all the boats we work with have this service, only those that depart at 6:00 am). On board of it, you will have a short briefing of what will be done during the tour, rules of the visit site, etc. This talk (in English and Spanish) is given by a guide authorized by the Galapagos National Park. Once on the island, you will take a short walk on a wooden platform that will last approximately 40 minutes to the top of Bartolomé, where you will be able to observe the wonderful views of the bay and take many photos. The view seems to come from another planet due to its isolation and volcanic landscape. Back on the boat you will have a hot lunch and fresh water. The next stop is Sullivan Bay where you can snorkel with penguins, sea lions, white tip sharks, a wide variety of reef fish and sea turtles. The best time to photograph the penguins is when you are taking the panga ride aboard the Zodiac to get a closer look at Pinnacle Rock, so have your camera ready at any time. Upon returning to the boat, a light snack (fruit, cookies) is provided on the navigation back to the Itabaca channel where the bus awaits you to bring you back to your hotel in Puerto Ayora.
