The Tour

Española Island, located approximately 2 hours south of San Cristóbal, is one of the most fascinating destinations in the Galápagos. Its flat landscape hides a volcanic history of over 3 million years, and its biodiversity makes it a paradise for nature lovers. From the moment you land at Punta Suárez, you’ll be welcomed by reddish-green marine iguanas and playful sea lions. This tour offers an unforgettable hiking experience among endemic species such as the Española Mockingbird, Galápagos Hawks, Blue-footed Boobies, Nazca Boobies, and, during the season (April to December), the majestic Waved Albatross. One of the tour’s highlights is “El Soplador,” an impressive water spout that shoots up to 25 meters through cliffs. After the land excursion, the adventure continues at sea with a snorkeling or diving session at Lower Gardner, a vibrant site full of marine life. This excursion is perfect for those seeking a deep connection with the unique wildlife of the Galápagos.

ITINERARY

At 7:30 am, we depart from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and sail for about two hours toward Punta Suárez.
Upon arrival, a dry landing brings us face to face with marine iguanas and sea lions.
We take a 1.6 km guided hike to spot endemic species like the Española Mockingbird, Galápagos Hawk, finches, Blue-footed and Nazca Boobies, and, from April to December, the Waved Albatross.
We visit “El Soplador,” a natural blowhole that sends seawater up to 25 meters into the air.
Back on the boat, we enjoy lunch while heading to Lower Gardner.
In these shallow waters, we snorkel or dive with rays, turtles, sea lions, white-tip and Galápagos sharks, and possibly hammerheads.
Around 5:00 pm, we return to the main dock, wrapping up a day full of wildlife and adventure.
